Day 41 - 12th April 2009

It seems like it was just yesterday that everyone was all excited about going to China. But in actual fact, today marks the end of my 41 days in China. I guess from this trip, everyone gained something else besides doing our core module & also the IS module. Thinking back, I guess I made a right choice to come for this trip.

This trip had its ups & downs. But whatever it is, we have already went through it as a team ;) There's going to be many things which i'll miss from time to time.

From Day 1,
to Day 41.

Many things did change I guess ;) From hairstyles to personality. But, I could very much say that we had memories together as one that no one else can replace. We had the best times together for sure ;)

Flashbacks of this trip:

Day 1 ! I remembered that my luggage weighed 30kg & I only knew like afew of the people there. & also, gathering together at the airport, collecting all the passports & checking in. Could vividly recall that we were almost late for the flight as well. Hahaha.

Our dorm (:
I could recall that all of us kept complaining that the bed was really hard since we only had a comforter on top of the wooden plank & how troublesome it is for us to climb up the ladder just to get to our bed every night.

The huge empty space for soccer, badminton, basketball & any other sports. Recalled that 2 badminton rackets were seriously out of shape after we finish playing cause it wasn't in a good condition even before we used it.

The security guards which doesn't smile most of the time. Maybe till they see hot hunks walking in or something & that's when you can see their grin. Hahaha (:

The first day of class which was near the guys dorm.

Our first lunch together as a group.

Walking back from shopping centres & exploring the campus.

Underground market where we got all our dinner & fruits & peanuts & notebooks !!!

The never ending traffic. & instead of vehicles giving way to humans, it was the other way round. Zebra crossing & traffic lights doesn't work on them. Oh, & all the hornings & jams on the streets.

The two best friends which are so adorable.

Our hostel's superstar: Abdul ! :D Always so naughty & yet so cute. Hahaha (: Omg, i'll miss him man.

Cute chubby chubby kids !!! :B
The tea egg, you tiao & soya milk stall !!! Morning breakfast while rushing for class !!!

Some chinese practice dance thing which they have it all the time & the tempo plus rhythm is always the same. But it's seriously really noisy. Hahaha !

Piggy back rides !!! (:

Arcade times !!! I remember trashing Aqilah & Fareez in car racing :D

Being Sophia for the day. Hahaha (:

Our halal burger, milk tea & nuggets stall (:

Thousand & one museum visits.

Walking around in town in the night, enjoying the night life & shopping ! (:

Halal place !!!

South east gate ! Which is like our pasar malam. & it leads to our so-called Bugis street too (:

My favourite raspberry ice-cream !!!

The blackboard filled with maths equations & those chalks which always break.

The friendly sweepers which help to keep the campus clean. They wave back at you when you smile at them (:

They were selling dogs every where in the streets. & that's when every one gather there. & that's when, we get human traffic jam.

Yellow crane tower day !

Getting stuck in the cruise for a night due to the bad weather.

Up on the deck of the cruise where we were snapping all the photos we can.

Brother hood.

Adidas jacket day !

Sceneries like this can't even be seen in Singapore. Seems so quiet & peaceful here. Rural area seems like a good place to relax.

Ah yes, calligraphy day (:

Time for some KTV (: I recalled that Shakkir was a star that night ;)

Nail extensions for the both of us :D

Common Test day where everyone was doing their last minute studying though they were still half awake. Hahaha. Recall that it was April Fool's Day too. & if you could remember who got punked the most ? Heehee :D

Hot spring ! Where everyone enjoyed themselves in their bikinis & swimming trunks. & I enjoyed my sleep (:

TAI TI !!! During all those trips. Cruise & Lu Shan. Tai Ti all the way. Hahaha ! Wah, miss those days.

The super long cable car ride which wasn't that stable due to the wind. HAHAHA !

Group photos which were so rushing for us.

Steamboat for dinner !!! With additional ingredient which was...
Pig's brain.

Learning how to play pool (:

Not forgetting the yummy dessert near the girl's dorm :B

& paper cutting day (:

The shocking hair colour of Shakkir & he was trying to hide it as much as possible when he first dyed it.

Closing ceremony & the speech was by Shakkir ! I remember having 10 over dishes on the table.

On the flight back to Singapore. Where most of us were feeling half hearted. Cause we want to stay in China yet, we feel home sick. Also getting to know some of them better.

& finally, the last group shot which marks the end of our 41 days trip to Wuhan.

I think, from this trip, i've learnt alot. It seems like we've just gotten closer as a team, just got used to the environment over there & yet the time is up. There's still the study group & chalet to look forward to, which is all good (: Hopefully, everyone can make it a point to turn up.

Going to miss the food there though. Halal place ! Though I ate there till I got quite tired of it. Congee place with sushi (: Pasar malam place which has so many food stalls. Nuggets & milk tea near the girl's dorm. & favourite raspberry ice-cream which I can't find in Singapore.

Miss having ice-cream in the cold weather, playing badminton below the girl's dorm, playing pool & winning against people along with Shakkir (Best partners ! Hahaha !), going for steamboat & ordering endless plates of vegetables, rehearsing together for the students exchange night, going underground to look for more Adidas jacket.

Culture wise, I guess, China & Singapore are pretty different. Their history is richer compared to Singapore. Many, endless museums. Singapore's clean & green. Plus it's pretty safe to cross the road when there's zebra crossing & traffic light. But China, got to look left, look right, look left again. Vehicles travel at a fast speed over there. It's scary. Hahaha (:

& it's time to get use to Singapore's hot & humid weather again. Time to get use to sleeping on my bed which is totally different from the dorm's bed, Kit's screaming voice when she webcam with her mum in the night, Aqilah falling asleep in 5 minutes & snoring, Kang Qi disturbing Aqilah everytime. Time to also get use to the guys not coming over to play soccer or badminton, not having to climb up the ladder just to sleep on my bed, & not seeing the guys & also the other girls in the morning at the classroom.

Well, this trip was a good, fulfilling, enjoying, & fun-loving one. Thanks for the memories & also, thanks to Dr Zhu for taking care of us for these 6 weeks. It has been tough for you to manage the 23 of us I guess (: Going to miss all this moments together over at China (:

With this, i'll end my last post for this blog. So, goodbye.
